Drug laws and the prohibition of illicit drug use has existed around the globe for many decades. In recent years, more successful and nonsuccessful attempts at improved drug use legislation have been made. Many of these drug use legislation successes have decriminalized the sale, use, and possession of certain drugs across Europe and worldwide.
For example, in Italy, a higher percentage of THC is now allowed in cultivated hemp plants. This move has caused many to dub “Rome as the New Amsterdam.” Canada has recently legalized recreational marijuana. Two states in the use have decriminalized psilocybin mushrooms. At Flight AMS, our team of editors will continue to monitor and report on the status of drug use legislation on a global scale.
